Be on the Lookout for…

  • Woohoo! Other than a couple makeups, EOG tests are complete for this year! I should have scores by the end of this week and you will get results and a full report with report cards. I am so proud of the hard work both YOU and your child put into preparing for this event!
  • We are planning to have a very fun week June 5-9 and need your help to make it a success! Please visit the Sign Up Genius link to see how you can contribute time or supplies for our last week of school!
  • Monday June 5- Beach Day: Dress in your favorite beachwear! No bathing suits, but tropical wear, flip flops, sunglasses, hats, etc
  • Tuesday June 6: Camping Day: Dress for tent-living and camping attire
  • Wednesday June 7: Game Day: Wear your favorite sports gear
  • Thursday June 8: Fort Day– wear your pj’s so you can lounge in the fort you and your group builds
  • Friday, June 9: Last Day/Spirit Day: Rock your favorite Oakview shirt/colors word-party time!
  • On Wednesday, June 7th, fifth graders will be participating in the school’s first Enterprise Day. This “Enterprise Day” is a culminating event to showcase their understanding of what it takes to be an entrepreneur, how to budget, marketing and economics. For the next few days, students will be working in teams, or individually if they choose, to envision, create, market and sell their product or service to Oakview Elementary third and fourth graders.
This week, third and fourth graders will be offered the opportunity to bring in can goods and non-perishable items to be exchanged for tickets (5 tickets per item/can). These tickets will serve as money on the day of Enterprise Day. All non-perishable and can goods will be donated to the area food bank. Prices for items will be determined by fifth grade vendors. NO MONEY WILL BE EXCHANGED.
Fifth grade students will collect cans in Room 2409 on the fifth grade hallway between 8:45-9:30 am. NO CANS WILL BE COLLECTED ON EOG TESTING DAYS. During that morning time, your students will exchange can goods for tickets. A list of students who purchased tickets from your class will be given to you and their tickets before or on June 5th. Students can use these tickets to purchase items at Enterprise Day on June 7th from 10:00-11:30 am.
