Weekly Update 10.4.22

By In News & Updates On October 4, 2022

Be on the Lookout for…

  • Tuesday folders will come home today with 1st quarter interim reports, BOG scores, MClass Home Connect letters, and more. The scores are accompanied by a note regarding Read to Achieve Exemption. At this time very few students from our class have earned their exemption status which it TOTALLY fine because it’s pretty hard to reach End of the Year benchmarks at the start of the year. Additionally, this test is incredibly rigorous and on the computer which is an added challenge for most students. Please do not put much emphasis on this score with your child, as it is just one piece of a very large and ever growing and changing puzzle.
  • Thank you all to those who came to Open House last week. If you missed it, please check out the slides I presented. This will explain much of the paperwork in the folders. I also sent a packet that was handed out in Tuesday folders.
  • PICTURE DAY is TOMORROW Wed, Oct 5th! 📸 word-smile
  • The school’s Fall Festival is coming up soon! Mark your calendars for October 28th at 5:30. All classrooms will be putting together a raffle basket! Our class has the PICNIC theme. Mrs. Green has emailed information about our class basket. The signup genius can be found here.  Thank you for helping make this fun event happen! 🍂😀🎃

This week in Literacy:

Writing will be our focus this week as we pull together knowledge gained from the My Librarian is a Camel section. The goal is to write an organized informative paragraph full of purposeful details on how our remote location overcomes the challenge of illiteracy and gets books into hands of children all over the world.

This week in Math:

This week students will finish Unit 2 on reading and representing data through a variety of surveys and graphs. We will then begin unit 3, which is stories with Addition and Subtraction. This unit lways proves to be tricky for students. Please view the parent guide to help you assist your child and understand the various addition and subtraction lingo.

This quarter in Social Studies- we start this new unit Wednesday!
